Founding Partner

Jacob O’Brien is one of our Founding Partners. Having been a partner at a national intellectual property law firm, Jacob left to establish Black Swan Law, where he heads the firm’s non-contentious practice. Jacob has previously acted as General Counsel at an international fast fashion business, and provides strategic advice to his clients, which include technology entrepreneurs, large brands and venture capital companies.

John Battersby is a Founding Partner of Black Swan Law. He was previously a litigation partner at a national intellectual property firm, with a particular specialism in intellectual property. John now leads Black Swan Law’s contentious practice. He has represented his clients in the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal and the High Court.
